Recently, while actor-director Pushkar Jog was waiting for a friend in his car near Ville Parle in Mumbai, he saw two youths harassing a girl. Pushkar walked up to them and tried to intervene, but the youths started abusing him.
Talking about the incident, the actor said, I was sitting in my car when I noticed two boys who were standing next to a girl on the pavement, touching her inappropriately. I could not hear what they were talking, but I saw them abusing her. When I walked up to them, they recognised me but when I asked them to leave, they started using foul language. I retaliated by hitting them and by then a crowd had gathered. Thankfully, the cops came and took the two hooligans away. I had to rush for an urgent meeting; otherwise I would have accompanied them to the police station and ensured the boys were taught a lesson.
Pushkar added that he could not stop himself from getting involved. He added, People were around but no one was doing anything about it. Maybe the girl knew the boys and there was some issue between them, but you cannot physically abuse a girl. I had to voice my protest.
The actor is currently awaiting the release of his Marathi film 'Sasucha Swayamvar'. Hear him talk about the movie and his role in the link below.
